Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 23, 2026
At Calculy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. The short version: we don't store your calculations, and we never collect personal information unless you choose to share it with us.
1. Our Privacy Commitment
Calculy is a static website with no backend servers, databases, or user accounts. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser — all inputs you enter and all results you see are processed on your device and never transmitted to us. We have deliberately built Calculy this way so that your calculations remain completely private.
Because there are no servers or databases, we do not store, host, or process any of your calculation data anywhere. What you type into a calculator stays on your device.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only two kinds of information, described below. Neither allows us to identify you personally.
2.1 Google Analytics (anonymous usage statistics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website — which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, which devices and browsers are used, and approximate geographic location at the country level. This helps us improve Calculy and ensure it works well for everyone.
Google Analytics collects this information using cookies and small pieces of tracking code. It may record your IP address for the purpose of determining your approximate location; this data is processed by Google in an aggregated, anonymized form and is not used to identify you personally. Google Analytics never gives us access to your name, email address, or any other identifying information.
To learn more about how Google processes this data, see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
2.2 Bug report submissions (optional email)
Our footer includes a "Report a Bug" button that opens a feedback form powered by Tally, a third-party form service. When you report a bug, you may optionally provide your email address so we can follow up with you about the issue.
Submitting a bug report is entirely voluntary. The information you provide in the form (including the page you were on and any details you describe) is collected, stored, and processed by Tally on their servers and is visible to us only through Tally's dashboard. We use bug reports solely to diagnose and fix issues, and we use an email address only to contact you if we need more information about the bug. We never use it for marketing, and we never sell or share it.
For details on how Tally processes form data, please refer to Tally's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy at tally.so/help.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- Calculation inputs and results — entered values and computed results never leave your browser.
- Account information — Calculy has no registration, login, or user accounts.
- Personal identifiers — we do not collect your name, address, or payment information.
- Emails — except when you voluntarily provide one in a bug report (see Section 2.2).
- Live silver-price data — a small number of calculators fetch live data (such as silver prices) directly from public third-party APIs to display current rates; this data is not combined with or linked to any of your activity, and no personal information is transmitted.
4. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To analyze aggregate website usage and improve our content, design, and performance.
- To diagnose and fix bugs reported through our feedback form, and to follow up if you chose to leave an email.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the website.
We do not build profiles, run behavioral advertising, or share your data with any third party for their own purposes.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Google Analytics cookies (e.g., _ga, _gid) — used to measure site usage in an anonymized form.
- Local storage for preferences — we store your chosen theme (light/dark) and region in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device.
- Third-party scripts — our footer loads the Tally embed script, and our pages load the Google Fonts stylesheet. These services may set their own cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.
You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect the accuracy of our analytics but will not prevent you from using any calculator.
6. Third-Party Services
Calculy relies on the following third-party services, each of which is an independent data controller or processor:
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics (Section 2.1).
- Google AdSense — may display advertisements; Google may use cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your browsing activity.
- Google Fonts — web fonts loaded from Google's servers.
- Tally — the bug report form (Section 2.2).
- Live data APIs — certain calculators fetch current market data (e.g., silver prices) from public APIs to display results.
These services operate under their own privacy policies, and your interaction with them is governed by those policies. We encourage you to review them.
7. Data Retention
Because we do not operate servers or databases, we do not store your calculation data at all. Google Analytics retains aggregated reports for a limited period under its own data-retention settings. Bug report submissions are retained in our Tally dashboard only for as long as needed to resolve the reported issue, after which we delete them.
8. Data Security
Your privacy is protected by design: since no personal or calculation data is stored on our servers, there is nothing for us to lose or expose. The small amount of data that passes through third-party services (Google Analytics, Tally, AdSense) is protected by those providers' own security measures, including HTTPS encryption when transmitted over the internet.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the European Union and UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your data, and the right to data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, or if you have questions about this policy, contact us using the details in Section 12. Because we hold almost no personal data, fulfilling such requests is usually straightforward — and in most cases there is nothing to delete.
For analytics data held by Google, you can also opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
10. Children's Privacy
Calculy does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The website does not require registration and does not request personal data to use any calculator. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our bug report form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. International Data Transfers
Calculy serves a global audience. The limited data processed by our third-party services (Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Tally) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States and India. These transfers are made under appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection laws, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your privacy.
